4 Ennis - work from this week

We have had a very busy week this week with lots of great work being produced. In RE we looked at people who inspire us and why. In PSHE we were thinking about our hopes and dreams and how that feels to us and in English we tried to recreate a scene from the book based on the language the author used.

RE posters in Year 6

Our class created some wonderful posters for Interfaith Week. They hoped to tackle prejudice or to raise awareness of the different faiths and cultures followed throughout the world.

Year 2 had a very reflective RE workshop!

Year 2 had a wonderful workshop run by The Christian Education Project. It was a very engaging hands on workshop where they reflected and let go of worries, considered why people might pray, though about how to say sorry and what they were thankful for!

Diwali - The Festival of Light

The Reception children have been learning about the festival of Diwali.

They loved the story of Rama and Sita, and were able to retell the story using props.

The children created some Rangoli patterns and now the garden looks so colourful!

Finally, it was a chance for the children to taste some Indian food.

They showed great manners whilst eating, and had a chance to socialise with their friends while listening to Indian music.

Happy Diwali!

Eid Mubarak

Over the last month the children have been learning about Ramadan.

They have learnt how fasting is very important to Muslims.
As Ramadan came to a close, the children learnt how Muslim families celebrate
the end of Ramadan with Eid.

We learnt that families get together to celebrate Eid with prayers, gifts, charity and sharing meals.
Some of our families shared food from their Eid preparations and the children shared the meal together. This was a great learning opportunity for children
to socialise, talk and understand the importance of Eid.

We had a visit from one of our parents, who talked to the children about Eid.

The children also had the opportunity to design their own Mehndi patterns.

After Eid, some of the children talked to the class about their own celebrations with their family.
