A huge thank you to our wonderful Travel ambassadors for helping us secure Gold accreditation for TFL TRAVEL FOR LIFE. Our next project with the ambassadors is to consider what positive impacts they can make in our community to support safe travel and a cleaner environment for all.
We have had a very busy week this week with lots of great work being produced. In RE we looked at people who inspire us and why. In PSHE we were thinking about our hopes and dreams and how that feels to us and in English we tried to recreate a scene from the book based on the language the author used.
Our Year 5 Travel Ambassadors had a fantastic trip last week! They visited TFL head office in London and had a seminar about supporting our school with safe, active travel. They spoke in front of lots of schools and shared what they already knew about active travel.
Jaiden says 'I feel more confident speaking in front of people I don't know because we were taught how to speak publicly!'
'It was the best trip I have been on because I feel more confident!' Gatleen said.
Hana said that she enjoyed making a secret competition for the school- it was fun to make up slogans for active travel.
Healthy Snacks
In PSHE (Jigsaw), we have been learning about how to be healthy.
Today we followed a recipe to make a healthy snack and when we finished we got to eat it.
We discussed which food groups our ingredients belonged to and why they are healthy for us.

We are promoting active travel at John Bramston and are participating in the WALK TO SCHOOL challenge! Each class has the chance to win 'Active class of the month' if they record the most active trips to school. children also get the chance to earn badges monthly if they participate in active travel!
BLING YOUR BIKE! What a turn out! Welldone to everyone that participated in the competition, Even the rain couldn't put a dampener on these fab bikes and scooters! Pictures have been taken and this week the Junior Travel Ambassadors will be choosing their winners which will be announced during whole school assembly time on Monday! We hope you had lots of fun being creative!
