Make sure you get on TTRS today as there's still time to get yourself on the leaderboard of the NSPCC Rocks competition. The competition ends this evening (Friday 6th February 2026) at 7.30.

4 Ennis Art

This week in art we have been looking at the British artist called Lucian Freud. He used to spend lots of time with the people he painted before he painted them so that he could capture their personalities in his work. The children created their own portraits using half of their own faces. Here are some of their results.

4 Ennis English

This week in English we have continued to read Pugs of the Frozen North. The adventure has taken Shen and Sika on a race to the North Pole with all 66 Pugs. On their journey they encounter the Kraken. The children listened to the description of him and drew what they thought he looked like.

Chigwell Hall baubles

Chigwell Hall yesterday was decorated beautifully with the baubles that John Bramston children (along with other local schools) made to mark the opening of the Christmas market.

The hall was packed out with local merchants selling gifts perfect for your loved ones and our decorations were the star of the show! Well done to all children who worked hard to personalise their wonderful decorations.

Year 4 Egyptian Bread Making

On Monday, as part of both History and DT, Year 4 made Egyptian bread. We used wholemeal flour, yeast and water with a pinch of salt. The children mixed the ingredients together and then they were able to knead the dough before forming small bread rolls. This is what they did.

Year 4 are looking at solids, liquids and gases. They conducted and experiment to make Oobleck. The children mixed ½ cup of corn flour with a ¼ cup of coloured water. They mixed it together to form Oobleck – which is both a solid and a liquid as it pours and is hard.
