Poppies

We have been learning about Remembrance Day.

The children found out about how the poppy is a symbol of remembrance for those who gave their lives for their country.

The children practised their fine motor skills by carefully tracking patterns on a poppy.

They had fun creating finger print poppies.
Each children needed to count out how many petals they were printing.

The children then talked about what they had made and why.

One child remembered the lesson and went on to create a poppy using shapes
and also made a poppy at home to show the rest of the class.

Growing plants

We all planted our beans after reading Jack and the beanstalk.

They were sent home and these are the plants now...

Well done to everyone!

Let it snow

What a pleasant surprise, waking up to snow.

For some of our Reception children it was the first time they had ever seen it.

We began our day on Zoom and was happy to see children joining in at home.

However, the most important learning came from the experience of being in the snow for the first time.

Thank you to our families for helping the children discover the wonder of snow.
