Once upon a time

We began our topic 'Once upon a time' with the traditional tale 'The Little Red Hen'. 

The children listened to the story, then used our story table to retell the story with each other.

The children used money to buy food from Little Red Hen's farm shop.

We read another traditional tale, The Three Little Pigs. 

Over the weeks the children have been finding out about different materials. 

They created houses for the little pigs.

They also pretended to be the big, bad wolf. 

The children found that both the straw house and the stick house were not as strong as the house made from Lego bricks.

The children created some great drawings of the Three Little Pigs.

After retelling the story with their friends, the children wrote their own stories and rhymes.
