This week, 2 Chamberlain and 2 Daley both visited the Royal Institute of British Architects in central London.
We took the Central Line to Oxford Circus and walked down Regents Street. We were so amazed by the sights and sounds!
RIBA is inside a very grand building and we were lucky enough o take part in a workshop led by staff there. We used our knowledge of sustainable materials in Science and Design Technology to design our own multi-use buildings, made of sustainable materials.
After a quick bite to eat we made models of our buildings using recycled materials and presented them to the class. We even found time for a tour of the building before returning home to Hainault. Well done Year 2, you really impressed us today!
RIBA will be running a family fun day on Saturday 9th November on the theme of building cities. If you fancy solving architectural problems as a family you can book a place for free at https://www.architecture.com/whats-on/family-fun-day-we-built-this-city-2024
