Drama workshop

The children had a visit from Perform.
They held a drama workshop for the children.

The children had fun listening to the story of the Toy Shop and then acting as the characters.
They also had the opportunity to talk about their favourite toys.

Healthy eating

We have been reading 'The tiger who came to tea'.
We have been discussing the different foods that the tiger was eating.
The children talked about healthy and unhealthy food.

The children tasted some healthy food and loved it!

The children went on to create their own 'healthy meals' using a range of materials and tools.

Nursery - Michael Rosen Day

 Michael Rosen Day

Today, November 13th, is Michael Rosen Day.

To celebrate this wonderful author, we looked at the story

We're Going on a Bear Hunt, which was written by him.

We listened to him read the story (a link to the video can be found at the end of this post), and went on a sensory bear hunt of our own.

In the story, the family encounter many different things, such as...

Long, wavy grass

A deep, cold river.

Thick, oozy mud.

A big, dark forest.

A swirling, whirling snowstorm.

A narrow, gloomy cave.

We talked about what would happen if we went on our very own bear hunt and where he would hide in our school.

Children designed the wellies they would wear on the hunt...

Children also drew and coloured their own bear faces.

Here is a video of Michael Rosen reading the story as promised.

Enjoy!
