Bramston division hunt

Bramston took our division knowledge and went outside to crack a code. 10 division problems were hid around the playground and our job was to find and solve them. When the correct answer was given, we then got a letter. When we got all 10 letters we had to rearrange the letters to spell a word that is essential in learning, the word was RESILIENCE - we discussed why it is important to be resilient in our learning.

Art and Sculpture in Year 4!

We have been learning about different Artists and Scuptors - last week we learnt about Barbara Hepworth.  She was part of the modernist movement, a group who wanted to experiment with new techniques and draw attention to the process involved in making a work of art.  She is known for her sculptures made of stone, wood and bronze.  She was very interested in portraying the family as a unit.  We have been working on creating our own sculptures using cardboard boxes and recycled materials.  Have a look at our work and tell us what you think.  It's very abstract.

Easter treats and basket weaving!

In Year 4 today, we made chocolate easter nests and we had great fun.  Some children put the spoon of shredded wheat mixed with chocolate into their mouths and not into the cake cases!  We also had fun making baskets, we had to cut, and weave strips of paper into our baskets.  They look amazing but not as amazing as our easter treats.
