A time to celebrate

Reception have been busy learning about celebrations.

The children have learnt about the Jewish celebration of Hannukah.
They learnt about the importance of lighting the Menorah candles for eight days.
They were also very creative and made Menorah's of their own.

They enjoyed playing with Dreidels - which was also good for their fine motor skills.

As we approach the end of term, the children have been learning about the Christian celebration of Christmas.

They have been working hard in Santa's Workshop and decorating the Christmas tree.

The children have been telling stories of elves and snowmen.

We had a busy time learning about the tradition of making Christingles.

The children also created their own Christmas biscuits. They were delicious.

The children have worked so hard during their first term of school.
This showed during their amazing performances of the Nativity.

Well done, Reception. What a great start to school life.
