We love stories!

Our new topic for this term 'Modern Tales and Rhymes' is a great way to engage children in books.

We have started by reading 'The tiger who came to tea'. It has given us a chance to develop the children's language by discussing words that they may not have come across before.

The children have been retelling the story in our role play area.

We have been using our phonic knowledge to read the book, as well as creating words.

We have been finding out about tigers, and have painted pictures of them.
We have remembered to paint the pattern on the tiger.

We have been talking about the food the tiger ate.
We had discussions about whether it was healthy, or not. The children created a plate of healthy food and talked about their likes and dislikes.

We love eating healthy food.
