Back to School!

6 Farah have been very busy this week (8th March 2021) and have packed in a huge amount of learning - even though we've only been back in school for 5 days! Here are a few examples of what we've been up to...

Art display outside our classroom showing some MIND MONTAGES:

Models of our Solar System from our current Science topic: Earth & Space 👽

(made at home during Lockdown but brought into school this week to share with the class)

Science Classwork: The Heliocentric or Geocentric planetary model.

We looked at the changing perceptions of how our solar system works: from early humans 12,000 years ago; to the Ancient Greeks and Aristotle; Islamic Scholars and their changing ideas through to Copernicus & Galileo.

The fascinating debate being: is the Earth the centre of our solar system (Geocentric) or is the Sun (Heliocentric)?

In English, we worked on sequencing some images from an animation we haven't actually watched yet. We had to put the images in our own order and write the narrative to go with it. Here are some examples:

Today in Maths we had a lot of fun investigating volume using Unifix cubes. We built our 3D objects, then had to draw them onto isometric paper - which was a lot trickier than it sounds.

I think you'll agree they did an amazing job. Well done 6 Farah for all your hard work 🏆🎆🏆
