We have learnt the names of different materials and identified the material that different objects are made from.
We have also discovered lots of different properties of materials such as hard, transparent and waterproof.
We found out about Ted, who got wet in the rain one day. We decided he needed an umbrella and set out to investigate which material would be the best material for an umbrella to be made from.
We kept out investigation fair, by using the same amount of water on each material. We measured the water using drops, measuring spoons or a syringe.
