Year 2 visit Hainault Fire Station

Today 2 Adams visited our local fire station on New North Road as part of our learning in English, Design Technology and History, where we are learning about the Great Fire of London.
We were able to hear the siren that alerts fire fighters to their next job, learn about what type of emergencies that the fire service gets called to and explored what equipment is kept on the fire engine itself.
We were lucky enough to see the specialist fire engine at Hainault, one of only three in London, which holds even more water and has longer ladders than standard engines.
As a special bonus, every child (and adult) had a turn at using the hose for target practise!
Thank you so much to the fire fighters who welcomed us and gave us a guided tour today.
