This week Year 2 have explored the artwork of British abstract sculptor Barbara Hepworth. We found that her large scale sculptures often show abstract human forms and are situated outside.
What we really like about abstract work is that we can all have a different opinion on what we see, yet are all absolutely correct!
We used cardboard boxes in teams to make our own abstract human forms, before sitting down individually to draw them accurately using tone.
This also tied in with our maths learning this week- 3D shapes!
