In Year 2 this morning we have had a very exciting return to the Autumn term.
We began our project in Art exploring contemporary British sculptors by looking at the work of Marc Quinn, an artist interested in the human body. Perhaps his most famous series of sculptures is called "Self"- where he casts his own head every five years and fills it with his own blood! Year 2 had so many interesting questions about the piece.
Next we examined his series of hands made of bread. We were fascinated with the idea that art doesn't have to be permanent and will eventually rot away.
We then mixed our own bread dough and made our own copies of our hands!
