YEAR 6 participating in MON£Y W££K !!!

Year 6 have had a lot of fun this week taking part in different activities to do with MON£Y! This was a great resource provided by Natwest to encourage Money Sense in children.

On Monday we looked at Money around the world including foreign currencies and exchange rates. We learned about the value of an identical product in different countries and why it might be cheaper to buy something in one country than another (see photos).

On Tuesday, we learned about jobs and money and questioned whether people choose jobs based on what they will get paid or for other factors. We also looked at matching average wages of certain professions.

How would you match these jobs and wages earned in a year (NOTE: these are just AVERAGE wages)???

Top footballer, Chief Executive of an oil company, Prime Minister, Managing Director of a business,

Answers will be given after the photos!

During Wednesday to Friday's Maths lessons we worked in small groups on a really fun project, planning somebody's Birthday Party. We had to think about what sort of Party we would be organising, how many guests would be coming, what budget we had, how to cost it and whether we were getting value for money. We then had to present our ideas to the rest of the class.

All in all we had a really great week in Maths learning all about MONEY SENSE.
