Marvellous Maths

We have been learning different ways of comparing height, length, weight and capacity.

We wanted to find out which car would travel the furthest when placed at the top of a ramp.
We chose different types of cars; plastic, metal, large wheels and small wheels.

To measure the distance travelled we used bricks of equal size.
Before we let the car roll down the ramp, we each predicted how far it would travel.
We placed the bricks end to end to ensure that our measurement was accurate.

We found out that the plastic car, with the large wheels, travelled the furthest.

We then used smaller bricks to measure different objects.
We recorded our findings to compare the different lengths.

During our Challenge Time, some children decided to make their own rulers.
