Evie and the Animals

In Year Three, we have been reading a story called Evie and the Animals. It is about a girl called Evie who can talk to animals. We thought about what superpowers we would like and why:

My superpower would be super senses. These would be super sight, super hearing, super touch and super smell. These powers would let me experience the world in a greater way than anyone else. I use my powers to help people in need. Such as smelling a fire about to get bigger in a home, or a gas leak. I could listen out for calls for help and tell the police where they are. I would use my super sight to check the sea for lost people that have been reported missing. I would use my powers for good and work with the emergency services. I think some people will be jealous of my powers, although most people will appreciate that I am helping people.

If I was a superhero I would have good superpowers and bad superpowers because if I was saving someone I would use my good superpowers and if I was catching a bad person I would use my bad powers. My superpower is flying. And my other super power is ice power.

Every day I would bring a gun in case the bad person is mean and rude and hits people. My other super power is reading the future because if I draw on my journey I will know what will happen to the future and when I go outside I’m always invisible so people don’t know I’m a super hero.

And my last superpower is teleportation because if I want to get to the bad person quicker.

Wouldn’t you want to be a superhero like me?

MY SUPER POWER IS SAVING PEOPLE FROM GETTING HURT.

My superpower is to fly around to other countries and help people talk when they can't talk. My other superpower is to help people if they are in danger. My superpower is to help disabled people walk. My superpower is to save the world.

I would use my superpowers when bad things happen.

We then wrote our own introductions to the story. Have a read of them!

Evie was a little girl from England. She lived in a small cottage near the forest with her dad. Evie had a special power which was to communicate with all kinds of animals but her dad did not let her talk to them in case she gets herself into trouble. By the time Evie was six years old she had read more than two hundred books all about animals which helped her understand them a bit more. One day Evie secretly let a bird in so she could talk to it just as she did her dad walked in and was not happy because he was worried for her and didn’t realise how good the power was.

Evie was 6 years old and she lived with her dad in a village. She was not an ordinary girl, because she had a power to talk to animals and listen to their minds. Also, Evie read over 300 books about the animals, so she knew some facts about different animals. However, dad had a different opinion about Evie’s superpower. He warned Evie don’t talk to the animals otherwise you will have lots of trouble. Evie couldn’t understand why she can’t talk to them. One morning Evie was getting to the school. All of a sudden, Evie saw a little, blue sparrow bird flew on her windowsill. Both of them started to chat to each other.

In a little boring village, there lived a girl called Evie. She was 13 years old and her birthday was, Aprill the 6th 2007. She had beautiful long hair and lots of cute freckles on her face. She lived with her dad and her pet dog, Wispa. She was the smartest girl in the class and she never showed off about it.

Evie's dad was always busy because he had full-time job. He barely got to spend time with Evie. Most of the time Evie felt lonely and if it wasn’t for Wispa she would be very bored. Her dad always called her special... and there was a reason for it. SHE COULD TALK TO ANIMALS! This special power of hers started when she turned 10 years old. The only person who knew about it was her dad but he didn’t let her speak to them.

One day when Evie woke-up she brushed her teeth, ate her breakfast and got changed. When she was doing the dishes, she saw a cat and it looked pretty lonely. Evie new she wasn’t supposed to talk to animals but she couldn’t help it, so she went to the cat.
